Don't miss out as the Bonfire Sessions returns to Montreal this year! The night will be filled with a trio of local acts celebrating the peak of summer with bands and bonfire under the big sky. Mac Demarco is a Canadian artist who's best known for his breezy, laid-back style of rock -- "jizz jazz" as he calls it-- that's easy to chill out to. He released his best album yet earlier this year named Salad Days, which pays honor to songwriting giants like John Lennon, Steely Dan, and Ray Davies. The Besnard Lakes are a Montreal dream-pop group led by the married couple Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas. "Cinematic" as a descriptor that gets tossed around a lot but it really works for their sound -- and they live up to that tag, having soundtracked several films including Mark Ruffalo's Sympathy for Delicious. Last year they released their fourth album, Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO, a collection of meandering neo-psych songs that never land where you expect. Solids is a noise pop guitarist-drummer duo based in Montreal, consisting of Xavier Germain-Poitras and Louis Guillemette. Their debut album Blame Confusion, produced by Tricky Woo's Popovich, nods to the greats of '90s alt-rock's golden era like Sonic Youth, Superchunk, and Dinosaur Jr.
